Angela Sullivan-Barta, President & CEO (Since 2009)

Angela became CEO of 21st Century Pools & Spas after purchasing the company from her father, Bob Sullivan. Having spent more than 15 years working in every area of the business and building the exceptional team that serves our customers today, she successfully continued the company’s tradition of excellence.

A graduate of Arizona State University, Angela served as Captain of the Equestrian Team and was active in numerous campus organizations. She was selected to serve on BioGuard's Dealer Advisory Board for 2021-2022, helping guide product development and industry initiatives for one of the nation's leading pool and spa chemical manufacturers. Angela has also been featured in multiple industry publications, including recognition as a female industry leader in Pool & Spa Magazine.

Eric Lipski, Operations Manager (Since 2017)

Eric joined 21st Century Pools & Spas in 2017 as a Service Department Assistant and has advanced to Operations Manager through his dedication and leadership.

A graduate of SUNY Potsdam and former member of the Swimming & Diving Team, Eric also coached high school swimming and diving for five seasons. Before joining our team, he gained valuable experience at several of the nation’s premier Platinum-level country clubs, including one ranked among the Top 10 Country Clubs in America. Eric is also a Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO).

Teresa Hollister, AAS, CWT (Since 1993)

Teresa serves as our Corporate Bookkeeper and is one of the longest-tenured members of the 21st Century family. She earned her Associate Degree in Business Management from SUNY Morrisville and achieved Certified Water Technician (CWT) status through BioLab.

Over the years, Teresa has managed our Oneonta location and worked extensively in our Vestal showroom. Her knowledge, reliability, and commitment make her an essential part of our daily operations and a trusted resource for both customers and employees.

Taylor Sullivan, CPO, CWT, Sales Manager (Since 2015)

Taylor has grown through multiple roles since joining the company in 2015. From building above-ground and in-ground pools to managing construction projects and showroom sales, he has developed comprehensive industry expertise.

Taylor holds several professional certifications, including Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Certified Service Technician through Sundance Spas, and Certified Water Technician (CWT) through BioLab. Today, he leads our pool and spa sales team while helping customers find the perfect solutions for their homes.

Michele Bennett, Showroom Representative (Since 2020)

Since joining the team in 2020, Michele has helped create the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that customers enjoy when visiting our showroom.

Known for her warm personality and exceptional customer service, Michele takes the time to build lasting relationships with customers and ensures every visit is a positive experience.

Service & Installation Team

Keven Horak, Senior Service Technician, CPO (Since 1991)

Keven is a senior service technician with decades of experience in pool service, renovation, and repair. He specializes in commercial pool projects and has completed extensive manufacturer training on numerous products and systems.

Keven is a Certified Pool Operator and has also completed the New York State OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course.

Darren Antalek, In-Ground Pool Installation Foreman (Since 2001)

Darren leads our in-ground pool installation crew and is highly skilled in plumbing systems, excavation coordination, and decorative concrete finishing.

Having trained under respected industry veteran Calvin Hunter, Darren brings extensive knowledge and craftsmanship to every project. He has also completed the New York State OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course.

Gary Marshall, Installation & Service Foreman (Since 2007)

A second-generation member of the 21st Century family, Gary followed in his father's footsteps and built a successful career within our service and installation departments.

His years of hands-on experience and commitment to quality make him an invaluable resource for both our customers and team members.

Carson Skube, Pool Installation & Service Technician (Since 2019)

Carson joined our team as a high school student working in the warehouse and has developed into a highly skilled pool builder and service technician.

Known for his positive attitude and problem-solving abilities, Carson consistently demonstrates the dedication and work ethic that define our company culture. Fun fact: all of Carson’s siblings have also worked at 21st Century Pools & Spas.

Michael Hermanovitch, Installation Foreman (Since 2020)

Mike joined our installation team in 2020 and was promoted to Crew Leader in 2023.

Having installed hundreds of above-ground pools, Mike has earned a reputation for exceptional workmanship, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Christian Holmberg, Pool & Spa Technician (Since 2023)

Christian was brought on to support our growing spa and hot tub service department and quickly expanded his skills to include pool service and maintenance.

Customers regularly commend Christian for his professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to outstanding service.

Honoring Our Retired Team Members

Robert F. Sullivan, AAS, CWT, CBP (Retired 2022)

Bob served as President, CEO, and owner of 21st Century Pools & Spas before passing leadership to his daughter, Angela.

A Certified Building Professional, Bob was a charter member of the Backyard Place Dealer Advisory Council and served on numerous industry and community boards. He earned an Associate Degree in Architecture from SUNY Delhi and began his pool industry career in 1979 while working at IBM in Endicott, New York.

Throughout his career, Bob became known not only for his business leadership but also for his extensive volunteer work helping build churches and youth centers in underserved communities throughout Cuba and Mexico.

Calvin Hunter (Retired 2021)

For more than 30 years, Cal led our in-ground pool installation team and helped build hundreds of pools across the region.

Widely respected by customers, contractors, and competitors alike, Cal earned a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, leadership, and mentorship. Many of the installation practices and standards we follow today were shaped by his influence.

Mark Frederick, CPO (Retired 2023)

Mark dedicated nearly 40 years to helping customers transform their backyards with pools and spas tailored to their needs.

His product knowledge, professionalism, and customer-first approach resulted in thousands of successful sales and countless satisfied customers throughout his distinguished career.
